Last year's ice storm brought down our beautiful oak trees and with that, several sections of our fence. The city of Corvallis is located in central western Oregon, between the Willamette River and Columbia Hills. With over 59 thousand people living here as well as OSU’s campus it has become one if not THE most vibrant cities around! Joseph C. Avery arrived in Oregon from the east and took up a land claim at its mouth, where it flows into Willamette River; he settled there with his family on June 18th 1846 when they built their first home within boundaries of today’s Corvallis city which includes southern section down to riverbank just south off Main Street.
The early 1840s saw more than 150 settlers arrive along both sides rivers throughout this area including Joseph who came all way across America due westward past Mohawk Mountain before settling near present day town center.
Corvallis is a city that sits at river mile 131–32 of the Willamette River. The foothills on its northwest side provide views from Bald Hill, which can be seen as you drive through town or visit nearby attractions like Oregon State University campus .
